This is the privacy policy for realleonida.com, written in plain English because the site is simple and the policy can be too.
The short version
Real Leonida is a static website. There are no accounts, no sign-ups, no comment forms and no newsletter, and we do not ask you for your name, email address or anything else. We use self-hosted analytics to count visits and travel-planning actions. We display, or may display, advertising served by Google AdSense, which uses cookies. We link to other websites, which have their own policies. That is nearly the whole story.
What we collect directly
The site has no user accounts or forms that collect names, email addresses, phone numbers or payment details. Analytics records the limited visit information described below, including approximate location and pseudonymous visitor and visit identifiers.
If you email hello@realleonida.com, we keep your message only as long as it takes to deal with it and do not add you to any list.
Analytics
We use self-hosted Umami at analytics.kostas.live to count page views and actions such as opening directions, itineraries and booking links, using the place filters, opening a place from the map and following links to official sites (we record the site’s domain, not the page). Records include the page path, referring domain, browser, device, approximate country and pseudonymous visitor and visit identifiers. These are not verified people counts. We do not deliberately send URL query parameters, fragments, typed information or booking details. A booking-link click does not tell us whether you booked anything.
The tracker is excluded on development hosts, in recognized automated test browsers and when your browser sends Do Not Track. Internal users can also turn it off below. Some earlier records may include testing or bot traffic. These exclusions cannot identify every automated visit.
Exclude this browser from analytics or enable analytics. Your preference is saved in this browser’s local storage; it does not apply automatically to other browsers or devices.
Advertising and cookies
The site displays, or may display, advertising served by Google AdSense. Google is a third-party vendor that uses cookies to serve ads. In particular:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or to other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.

If other advertising networks are ever used on this site, they will be named here with a link to their opt-out.
We do not control those cookies and we do not see the data they collect. If you are in a region where the law requires consent before advertising cookies are set, such as the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will be asked for it before any such cookie is set. Most browsers also let you block or delete third-party cookies, and if you use a browser or extension that blocks tracking, the site works exactly the same without it.
Links to other sites
A travel guide links out constantly: to parks, tour operators, booking platforms, maps and official sources. Some of those links are affiliate links, described in our affiliate disclosure. When you follow a link, you leave this site, and the site you land on has its own privacy policy that we do not control. Booking and retail platforms in particular will ask you for personal and payment details; that relationship is between you and them.
Children
This site is about the real places behind a game rated for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age. If you believe a child has sent us information through some route we have not anticipated, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
We do not maintain user accounts. We do hold the limited analytics records and correspondence described above. If you are in a jurisdiction that gives you rights over your personal data, such as the European Union, the United Kingdom or California, those rights apply to whatever an analytics or advertising provider holds about you, and their policies explain how to exercise them. If you believe we hold something ourselves, ask, and we will answer honestly and act on it, email hello@realleonida.com.
Changes to this policy
If the site changes in a way that affects your privacy, for example a contact form, a newsletter or a new analytics or advertising provider, we will update this page and the effective date at the top. Changes are not applied retroactively.
